EST 2017 | Your Source For All Things Lorraine Bracco

Via Carter Matt, Lorraine will be making another appearance as Mayor Margaret Dutton on Blue Bloods April 6th.

“How about this for some great news surrounding Blue Bloods season 8 episode 18? Two welcome familiar faces in Peter Hermann and Lorraine Bracco are going to be appearing on the CBS show come April 6. These two actors are following up an appearance from Kelly Dillon on March 30, reminding you that the show is going to be emphasizing some of its familiar guest stars for the final stretch of the season.

While you may be excited about this news — and why wouldn’t you be? — there are also parts of the Blue Bloods season 8 episode 18 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below that should make you nervous:

“Friendship, Love, and Loyalty” – After a woman voices her outrage regarding the NYPD’s inability to find her son’s murderer, Danny reexamines the case, upsetting the original detective, Erin, and Anthony, who didn’t pursue the case due to lack of evidence. Also, Eddie is shot while on duty; Erin and her ex-husband, Jack (Peter Hermann), face off in court; and Frank contends with an angry police force when Mayor Dutton (Lorraine Bracco) fails to defend them at a press conference, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, April 6 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Could Blue Bloods really kill off its second major female cast member this season after Amy Carlson’s exit in the premiere? There is a sad irony to so many of us clamoring to get more Eddie on the show; yet, when it happens, it happens in the worst way possible. Hopefully, she will emerge from this crisis okay and with Jamie supporting her every step of the way. This could be the beginning for many big Jamie / Eddie stories the rest of the season since traumatic experiences often bond people together. (Watch our video below for why we want to get some more of Jamie and Eddie — subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube for more.)”

While working as a model in France, Lorraine was approached by Marc Camoletti to act in the adaption of his play Duos Sur Canapé. She portrayed the character Bubble and was not impressed with her performance. She would later go on to take other film roles but it wasn’t until she had an uncredited role in Camorra that she was inspired to pursue acting.

Today is the start of Go Red For Women, 2018. So for a “Flashback Friday”, here are images of Lorraine attending the Go Red For Women Awards in 2007. The awards were held on February 1st, 2007 in honor of American Heart month and she wore a specially designed dress for the occasion. The dress was designed by Michael Vollbracht and consisted of a red silk taffeta skirt/shirt combination. It was completed with a black belt with Campbell’s Soup logo on it, Campbells donated money towards the cause. The dress was eventually auctioned off in order to help raise money for Go Red For Women. Prior to this event, Lorraine also attended the Go Red For Women Foundation hosted by Joy Behar, on January 31st.

On September 19th, 2017 Lorraine after being away from New York for years attended the launch of Hope Fragrance. 100 % of the proceeds from the sales of the fragrance went to mental health research. The fragrance was also exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue where the launch even was held last year. Lorraine was quoted saying she was“so friggin’ excited to be here and walk the streets and look at the people.” This comes after her 6 year stint on the succesful TNT drama, Rizzoli and Isles.

Over six seasons, Lorraine portrayed the no-nonsense Dr. Jennifer Melfi whom we mostly saw through her interactions with Tony. On occasion we saw her outside of her office when she visited her own therapist or with family. In Season 3, we were given the only Melfi centered episode with Employee of the Month exploring the aftermath of her brutal assault in a stairwell. Along with the mystery of the Russian that Paulie and Chris chased in Pine Barrens this episode has had a profound affect on fans. To this day fans still question whether or not Melfi should have told Tony about her rapist in order receive the justice the law fail to serve her. Many feel that to have told him would have made her no better than her patient, her morality would be stripped. Even Lorraine noted in various interviews that she didn’t understand why she was being hurt, that she was the only decent character on the show. While the episode may be triggering to some due to the violence of Melif’s rape, the entire episode is well written and Lorraine’s performance is her most powerful of the series.

Maggie Dutton, is butting heads again with Frank over a cop who tests positive for marijuana use.

After an absence from Blue Bloods since episode 2, Lorraine returns in the fifth episode entitled The Forgotten. Frank must deal with fallout after Mayor Dutton eliminates solitary confinement in prison. You can view screen caps from the episode below.

In Lorraine’s 2nd appearance on Blue Bloods she order Frank to attend a West Indies Parade for a man whom conspired to attack the police. Screencaps from the episode can be viewed below. Also Mayor Dutton will eliminate solitary confinement in Ep 5 entitled ” The Forgotten” still no more information on how many additional episodes Lorraine will appear in.

Last night Lorraine made her return to TV since the Series Finale of Rizzoli & Isles last year, with CBS hit show Blue Bloods. She portrays the new mayor Margaret Dutton who butts heads with Tom Selleck’s Frank Reagan. It has not be revealed yet how long she we be on the show other then that it will be an arc. On September 27th Lorraine was in attendance at the Curb Your Enthusiasm after party for the new season premiere. Screen captures and photos from these both can be viewed below.

In preparation for tonight’s Season Premiere of Blue Bloods which features Lorraine here are screen captures of Part 3 of the Sneak Peeks released by CBS which Lorraine is in as Mayor Margaret Dutton.
